Choosing Web Hosting Companies - Cheap Website Hosts with Extras

One of the great things about the times we live in now is that it has never been easier to get a website online. The bigger web hosting companies also offer very easy to use website builders where the need for an expensive outside designer is usually not needed. That sure was not the case even 20 or even 10 years ago!

When I created my first website 20 years ago, there was no one-stop shop web hosting companies. I had to register my domain with 1 company, get hosting from another, and had to use an outside independent designer to help me build it. Then there was the email account, mailing list company and on and on. Also, many of the hosts then would have their servers down from time to time, and no one to call if something happened off hours. I used to freak out all the time then! When my site was down, I wasn't earning.

Today, you can do it all in one place and with very little technology experience. The largest web hosting companies understand that "simple SELLS". Meaning, most of them are using the Google Product model - easy for a 20 year old or a 70 yr old.  And the data load these companies can handle is almost unlimited.

These are some of the companies that I like the most, who offer all of the services I look for at a very affordable price.  I can register a domain, get it online and have design templates that I can use in one place. These companies include:

  • SQUARESPACE

  • GO DADDY

  • WIX

With these 3 companies, you can have your website up and designed in under an hour with low monthly fees around $15 a month. That is CHEAP. I've said it many times - A Website should be your most profitable asset by far when you measure cost vs. income potential. Having companies like this also allow you to run SEVERAL Website MUCH EASIER than it would have been 10 or 15 years ago.

Go Daddy has really stepped up their design templates in recent years. Wix and Squarespace are also very strong. I tell my clients that they really can't go wrong with either of these 3.

This helps unleash your creative and entrepreneurial ideas faster than ever!

Through my SEO and Internet Coaching, we can help you get your idea online - fast!  or perhaps you have a website that's been neglected or sitting at an older web host, and there services have simply been outclassed by the better ones.

If you need assistance with any web marketing service, reach out to me and we can help!

Affiliate Marketing - Building Strong Relationships

By Wouter Groendewoud

The internet has no borders, affiliate marketing is a worldwide business. Anyone can enter the online industry, the only requirement is to have a good internet connection. An essential part of business success is having a strong network. In this article, we will talk about how you can find the right people to work with and why it's important to build a strong relationship with them.

How to find the right business partners

Doing business online means that you can have partners all over the world. If you decide to do business in affiliate marketing, the first thing you should do is find a stable and reliable company to convert your traffic or ads with. Finding a company that suits you best requires some research. One of the most useful things you can do is to connect with people who are already experts in what you intend to do. All you really need to build a good network is the willingness to meet new people. There are a number of options that you can do to find the right and reliable contacts. We explain three below:

1. Search on Google

Searching on Google is an obvious way to find different companies to work with. Read the websites of the companies you have found carefully and decide whether it if it suits your goals. You can usually sign up for free at the company platform and once you have an account, look around in the control panel and determine whether you can work with it. An example of a reliable platform with a 24/7 support is Traffic Company. This CPA network has a variety of tools build into their control panel, that has been developed and continuously optimized for the needs of their users.

2. Ask questions on forums

Forums mostly have a wealth of independent information. This is the place where you can ask anything about the business and about the experience of other people with the companies you had already found. On the other hand, you can ask people on forums what they're up to and how you can help. That strengthens the relationship and makes it mutually beneficial. Some examples of forums where you can find a lot of information about the industry are AffiliateFix, Affpub, GFY, Stack That Money.

3. Visit events

One of the best ways to grow your network is to get out of the office. Meeting partners in real life and shake hands usually have a positive influence on the business relationship. But with an internationally oriented network, most of your contacts will not be around the corner. Luckily, there are various events that gather people from around the world to meet existing and new contacts in real life. Which is great, because then you can meet several partners in one trip. The European Summit is an example of such an event that attracts affiliates, media buyers, advertisers and publishers from all over the world. The upcoming edition of TES Affiliate Conference (14 - 17 September 2018) is located in Prague, Czech Republic.

Good partners stick together

Only the best platforms offer you a dedicated account manager, who wants you to grow and will support your growth. Once you found one or more partners to do business with, it's important to keep the relationship warm and close. Successful partners embrace change and growth, knowing that this attitude benefits them both individually and as a team.

Craig's List no longer free - craigslist charging for services

How To use the new craigslist fee policy to YOUR advantage

One day in the first week of March 2018, I noticed a new line in the categories section. It alerted me that beginning on March 15th, craig's list was going to charge anywhere from $3-$5 on new postings in the services and gigs section. They are also charging in other areas.

When I first saw it, I was shaken and concerned, but that changed as I saw how the new policy can be a very good thing for me. Is it a good thing for you?  Well, that depends.

See, I was one of those guys that may have encouraged craigslist to make a change like this. I run anywhere between 200-300 ads nationally. I also have a fairly high end/profit service, so the time I put in posting, renewing and re-posting was worth it to me. It's important to calculate not only what you pay for advertising - but the TIME you spend advertising when it's free. For me, TIME is MONEY.

The simple conclusion I've come up with is I will still be posting on craigslist, but less. What's the good part of that?  A lot of the volume and competition will not be posting as much either, and some will just stop posting there. Are there other free classified ad sites?  Yes, but if they do not get near as many eyeballs to my ads or get low traffic, then free can mean "waste of time" for me. I can also nail signs to trees in my neighborhood for free, but for my services - that would be a waste of time. Craig's list is still the most popular classified ad site in the world, and I do not think the fees will change that. I could be wrong down the road, but until I see a site with the reputation and traffic that compares to CL, I will stay engaged with it.

I'm also thinking that less posts will get removed or flagged if a fee was paid on it. Will CL remove AND refund a poster?  How craig's list will handle repetitive (but paid for) posts remains to be seen.

Some things to consider whether paying for your ads on craig's list is worth it or not should include:

Is your product or service high end?

Do you offer several types of services?

Are you strictly local or national?

What is your lead-to-closing ratio?

Let's take the first and last item. If your primary service nets you $200 and you close approximately 25% of the people who call you, then a $5.00 add was certainly worth it, and you should continue fairly aggressively on craig's list.  If each customer gives you a profit of $30, then it gets a little less worth it. So, my initial read on the fee change is if it passes these 2 tests (higher profit amount+high closing ratio), then most should slightly decrease their posting volume and test the waters.

As time goes on, I will share my initial experience with the new format, and I hope some of you will share yours!
